Lots About Star Wars!

If you are going to watch the movie STAR WARS, there are two things that you need to know. Those things are the two teams. The bad side is called the Empire and the good side is called the Rebels. The Empire was first ruled by the bad leader Darth Vader (who is Luke Skywalker's dad) and the evil lord Darth Sidiouse. Darth Vader wasn't always bad. As a child he was called Anakin Skywalker and born on Tatooine with no father.

One day when Anakin was a nine year old boy, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Got Jinn and other companions came to Tatooine to repair their engine. They met Anakin there, who was a slave for an alien named Watto. Obi-Wan and Qui-Got had nowhere to stay for the night, so Anakin let then both sleep at his house. At dinner, they all talked about the journey they were on. When their engine was repaired the next day, Anakin wanted to go with them on their journey, so his mum Shmi Skywalker, let him go with them. From then on, Anakin was trained by Obi-Wan and Qui-Got to be a good Jedi.

When Anakin was about 24 years old, he got angry at the Jedi Republic for putting him at such a low level of Jedi training. That is the point when he started to turn EVIL (said in an evil voice)! 👿 Anakin got very angry at Obi-Wan for telling him to stop complaining, so he started to attack Obi vigorously to get him back. Anakin fell into the lava and his arms and legs burned off. Darth Sidiouse, knowing that Anakin had turned to the dark side, ordered a ship to bring him to his lair. Darth Sidiouse made Anakin a new suit and from then on he was called Darth Vader!

Millenium Falcon 

One of the most popular Rebel ships is called the Millennium Falcon. This ship has been in many battles an has still survived. Inside the Millennium Falcon, there are two seats in the driving capsule: one for the pilot (Han Solo) and one for the co-pilot (Chewbacca). In the newer movies, Ray is the pilot a lot of the time. The Falcon's speed is about 1,050 kph (625 mph) when it is NOT in light speed. 





X-Wing Fighter 

An X-Wing Fighter is another one of the most popular Rebel ships. It is called an X-Wing because of the shape of the wings, of course. In battle, the wings are in an X shape, but when not in battle the wings are folded up. When Luke Skywalker (RED 5 is his code name) and his new friends teamed up to destroy the Death Star, he used the X-Wing Fighter with R2-D2 (a droid) in the back seat, where only droids can stay. 
The X-Wing Fighter's speed is 1,250 kph (777 mph).

Tie Fighters

A Tie interceptor is a little bit like the fighter that Darth Vader was in when he was trying to shoot Luke in the X-Wing.
Length: 9.6m (31ft 6in) top to bottom. 

A Tie Bomber is a two capsule fighter and it isn't the best looking.
Length: 9.2m (30ft) top to bottom.

And I think you all know what a regular Tie Fighter looks like.
Length: 8.99m ( 29ft 6in) top to bottom.

I love Cricket!

A few weeks ago my brothers and I started cricket! When it was our first day of training, we learnt how to bowl a ball. We played a few games; one of them involved throwing a ball at  to the coach and he batted it back. In our second training session we were in the nets, which is like a cage for batting in so that the ball doesn't go far. That was really fun. To play cricket you need a lot of gear. If you are batting you need a box (to protect your parts), 😊 leg pads, gloves to protect your hands, a helmet, and of course, a bat. Not long ago I broke one of our cricket bats while playing, so I was excited when I got another one for my birthday. 🏏 In our first match of cricket for the season, we lost. 😢 We only had eight people on our team, not the usual 11. Lego Singer!

Once I was in my room playing Lego, when I tried to make a face! Faces are one of the hardest things to make out of Lego, but I did it! First I got most of the skin-coloured Lego pieces from inside the tub. Then I started to make a jaw of the face, which took a long time to get the shape and size right. After that, I started to make the head, nose, and eyes for the face, which also took a long time to get right. I got the jaw part and slid it into the Lego head so the jaw could slide up and down to make it talk. It was very hard to make him and it took a lot of trial and error, but I got it done. Thumbsey!

One day when I was playing Lego in my room, I tried to build a person. I made a blue man putting his thumbs up, so I named him 'Thumbsey'! First I made the body for Thumbsey; it took a little time to make him look fat (I did that on purpose). Trying to get him to stand up was difficult because the weight of his body kept making him fall. After that I made his head and attached it to the body. I also made a bed for him to lie on, and because he was so fat and heavy, the bed had to be strong enough to support him. He also has two different eyes, and 100 dollars under his pillow (just for fun)! I hope you like the pictures! (Look out for the 100 dollar note under the pillow)!

Kind lady.

If you are a member of my family, or a friend that has been to our Church, you've probably heard of this lady I am about to talk about.  This lady (I'll keep her name private) is a very kind lady that is always seen at Mass. She is also the Lolly Lady.  Whenever Mass is finished, we always wait next to her car for her to bring all the lollies out of her boot. Because she is a little old, she takes a little time to walk to her car.  Whenever we see her she always proclaims that she loves us so much. She almost always gets my sister's name wrong; not long ago she called her Lucy!  Lollies.   My favourite lollies are called Fantales, which are chocolate covered caramels. Yum! She also gives us ginger biscuits, mini slices of bread, and some biscuits with sultanas inside them! 😋 I'm gnawing at my hand thinking about it. Hope you like the post! 🍪 🍭

Bounce, Shoot, Score!

Guess what? A few weeks ago we started basketball training! 👍👌 Mum signed us up for a homeschooling basketball group about eight minutes away from our house. I always thought I was really bad at basketball, but since we've started playing I've become heaps better, I think.  The first day we did some warm ups and a dribbling game; the rules to it are simple. There is a big square painted on the ground and everyone playing stays inside this square. Each person has their own ball to bounce, and as they're bouncing the ball they have to knock other player's balls out of the square. The last person left bouncing a ball is the winner! 🥇 In the first game, I came third. 🥉 Still, better than nothing. After this game we did shooting practice and the coaches told us how to shoot a ball accurately. They said that the way to remember how to shoot is to remember the abreviation 'BEEF'. Very Dark

Somewhere down our street there have been electrical technicians working on something; I have no idea what. Anyway, because of this they had to turn the whole street's electricity off. And that included us. 😱 The workers said that the construction would be anytime between  8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. At about 9:00 AM I was doing my schooling when without a sound, the lights went off. Then it turned very dark (as it says in the title). Because it was a very rainy day, there were a lot of clouds in the sky, which made it a lot darker inside. Mum let us finish our school work ealier because it was quite hard to see in the dark, and did I mention that we were working by candlelight? Well I wasn't, I was working with a torch, 🔦 but my brothers were. As this was all going on, we put a fire on in the fireplace for some light and warmth (because we couldn't turn our heaters on).
