In the world there are three different types of camels. The most common camel is the one-humped Arabian dromedary. Thousands of years ago, dromedries were considered domesticated. They are native to East Africa and to Central Australia! The second species of camel are called the Bactrian camel, which has two humps. The Bactrian camel is found in Central and East Asia, and is also domesticated. The third species of camel is called the Wild Bactrian, which also has two humps. Its habitat is in the remote Gobi Desert. There are also about 1,000 Wild Bactrian camels left that are critically endangered. People have used camels for millennia; they have been used for traveling, racing, and sometimes warfare. They were also thought to have pulled plows for farming. Camel milk is highly nutritious, and in Africa, camel urine is used for medicine. If you are going to watch the movie STAR WARS, there are two things that you need to know. Those things are the two teams. The bad side is called the Empire and the good side is called the Rebels. The Empire was first ruled by the bad leader Darth Vader (who is Luke Skywalker's dad) and the evil lord Darth Sidiouse. Darth Vader wasn't always bad. As a child he was called Anakin Skywalker and born on Tatooine with no father. One day when Anakin was a nine year old boy, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Got Jinn and other companions came to Tatooine to repair their engine. They met Anakin there, who was a slave for an alien named Watto. Obi-Wan and Qui-Got had nowhere to stay for the night, so Anakin let then both sleep at his house. At dinner, they all talked about the journey they were on. When their engine was repaired the next day, Anakin wanted to go with them on their journey, so his mum Shmi Skywalker, let him go with them. The Memorare is an old prayer that has existed for several hundred years. Memorare means 'Remember' in Latin and it is prayed to Mary by Catholics. We pray to Mary asking her to intercede for our intentions. A novena is typically a nine day prayer, but if you don't have enough time, you can say the Memorare prayer nine times on the spot for your intention. Then you pray a tenth Memorare in thanksgiving, knowing that your prayer is going to be answered. Saint Teresa of Calcutta often prayed this novena in times of an emergency, and is also called the Flying Novena. Once when it was my brother's birthday, I got a tiny speck of wood in my eye. It really hurt! I stuck my head in the sink filled with water while my eyes were open, though that didn't work in removing it. I like racing marbles a lot and I've made at least 25 different tracks! Whenever I finish my school work for the day, I usually make a marble run. I hope to add some videos of them to my blog. So what is a marble run? It is a track that a marble runs along, on its own or to race other marbles. You can make them out of cardboard, funnels, Lego, and much more! These are the steps for how to make a marble run: Step #1: First you will need to have a variety of marbles to race with. Step #2: You will need to make a track out of whatever you want for your marble to run on (you could try to make my marble track below if you wanted to). Step #3: When you're done with the track, test it by releasing five marbles to roll. If at least four marbles finish the track, I would say the track worked well.
